The Meade County Genealogical Society will meet this coming Saturday, April 20, at 2 p.m. at the Meade Library Community Room.  (The library is at 104 E. West Plains, use the east door.)

Our program will be “Becoming American and Researching Our Immigrant Ancestors.”  We will be learning what records are available as well as what life was like for our immigrant ancestors once they arrived here.  We hope to see you there.

Today I added nine funeral programs from 1991-1993.

Today, I added 13 funeral programs from 1980-1989 and the last half of 1943 marriage records.

Addition of Records – Marriage

I added Marriage Records for 1942 and the first half of 1943.

I’m glad to get back to adding to the Meade County GenWeb site.  2018 was kind of a tough year for my health.  Thankfully, things seem to be smoothing out now, and I hope to make lots of additions to this site from now on.

Addition of Records – Marriage, Obituaries

I added Marriage Records for 1941 today.

I also added Obituaries from 1980 – 2010 as well as a Master Index covering 1885 – 2010.  These obituaries can be found by going to the Meade Public Library website and clicking on “Genealogy.”

Addition of Records – Obituaries

I am in the process of adding obituary records.  This has been an ongoing collaborative effort between the Meade County Historical Society, the Meade County Genealogical Society, and the Meade Public Library.  Currently, we have 1885 – 1929  (These are obituaries that were printed in any and all Meade County newspapers.)  These obituaries can be found by going to the Meade Public Library website and clicking on “Genealogy.”
