Meade County Genealogical Society – October Meeting

SCAN0338In our  mobile society people think nothing of accepting a job in another state or country.  It hasn’t always been this way.  In the past, the decision to migrate was a very major consideration.  It was risky and dangerous and usually meant leaving most of our possessions and family behind, perhaps never seeing them again.  Do you know why your ancestors left their home, and do you know why they settled where they did?

Please join us at the October Meeting of the Meade County Genealogical Society.  Our program will be 13 Reasons Our Ancestors Migrated.  The meeting will be on Saturday, October 18, at 2:00 p.m. at the Meade Library Community Room (104 E. West Plains—one block south of the stop light in Meade, use the east door of the building.)  Refreshments will be served.
